Academic Misconduct Policy
In order to protect the right of readers and authors and to maintain the quality and reputation of this journal, Oil & Gas Storage and Transportation will test and screen each manuscript strictly in the process of publication. The manuscript will be rejected and punished seriously if it is identified as academic misconduct. The specific testing process and treatment methods are as follows:
1. Detection System
This journal adopts the academic misconduct detection system of CNKI for automatic detection, using the China Literature Journals Full-text Database as the reference database, detecting academic misconduct behaviors such as plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, improper authorship, simultaneous submission, etc.
2. Detection Range
1) All papers that have been received;
2) Papers that are accused of plagiarism by readers
3. Processing Flow
1)The academic misconduct detection system of CNKI is used to detect the duplication rate of the manuscript 3 times in total: ①during the internal review stage; ② before editing; ③ before publication.
2)If the similarity rate reaches or exceeds 15%, both the manuscript and the reference document will be simultaneously submitted to the reviewers, who will determine the nature and form of the similarity. Reviewers will provide recommendations on how to address this issue.
4. Academic Misconduct Definition:
1) The manuscript content copies intact or basically from other achievements.
2) The content of the paper that changes the type of others’ achievement or does not change the type but changes the specific forms of others’ achievements which are protected by copyright and use it as their own independent complete works;
3) The manuscript content uses others’ protected opinions to construct the total, core, or main ideas, use others’ protective academic achievements as its own main body or substantial part;
4) The manuscript content fabricates or tampers the research achievements, survey data, and experimental data or documents information;
5) The manuscript content cites others’ protected ideas, schemes, information, data, and so on, but no comments or original sources are listed;
6) Submit one manuscript to two or more journals at the same time.
5. Treatment Methods:
1) The editorial office treats the paper eventually identified as academic misconduct prudently, and informs authors timely, allowing authors to explain and defend this issue before making a decision;
2) If the paper is already accepted but has not been officially published, we will notify the author that the paper will be directly treated as rejected paper in the manuscript-handling process and the publication qualification will be canceled. Authors involved will receive educational feedback and a warning. Additionally, the responsible author will be charged a reviewing fee of 200 RMB (100 RMB per expert, totaling 200 RMB) and editing fees of 50 RMB per thousand words.
3) If the paper has been officially published, the author will be informed in writing that the accepted qualification will be canceled, a retraction statement will be issued, and the journal will delete all data in related databases in order to minimize the negative impact caused by it. Authors should return remuneration to the journal. Additionally, we will reserve the right to recourse claims if the matter causes any loss to reputation or others to our journal.
4)For serious cases, the names of the authors and their affiliations will be publicly disclosed in this journal at a later date, and the authors will be notified to withdraw their submission. Additionally, their affiliations and other scientific journals in the same field will be informed.;
5) For authors accused of serious plagiarism or submitting paper as first authors to multiple journals as the first author, the journal will not accept their papers for 2 years;
6. Appeal
If authors disagree with the identification and handling results of this journal, they may submit an application for reevaluation to the journal. Authors need to write an "Appeal Statement," stating the manuscript number, and send it to the editorial office email (please refer to "Contact Us" in this journal). The statement should provide detailed reasons for the appeal, including a comprehensive and reasonable explanation of the reviewer's comments. The journal will invite experts to conduct a re-review of these manuscripts and make a final decision within 30 working days, notifying the authors accordingly.
The above regulations will be implemented from the date of release, and the Editorial Office of Oil & Gas Storage and Transportation is responsible for interpretation.
